Russia's and Germany's railroad operators signed a technical cooperation agreement Thursday
Russia's and Germany's railroad operators signed a technical cooperation agreement Thursday, the Russian company said in a press release. Under the deal, Deutsche Bahn AG, Germany's major private railway operator, will provide technical assistance to Russian Railways in purchasing, operating and maintaining new train cars and locomotives, including high-speed trains. "We need wide-ranging consultations on the development and design of rail rolling stock," the press release quoted Russian Railways First Vice President Vadim Morozov as saying. "We want expertise in concluding agreements for the supply of sophisticated hardware such as high-speed trains." Russian Railways Vice President Valentin Gapanovich said cooperation priorities with Deutsche Bahn would include finalizing contracts for the supply of high-speed trains and technical maintenance throughout their service life.
