Rosneft said Thursday it would be bidding for major oil deposits in the country
State-owned oil company Rosneft said Thursday it would be bidding for major oil deposits in the country. "We plan to bid in many auctions in the future, as we are interested in new deposits," Rosneft CEO Sergei Bogdanchikov said. In particular, Bogdanchikov said Rosneft would bid for the Siberian deposits of Trebs and Titov, Sorokin Val, Lodochnoye, and others in Krasnoyarsk Territory, as well as on the Sakhalin-3 project, which includes the Kirinsky block where Mobil and Texaco hold licenses. Bogdanchikov said Rosneft had also set its sights on shelf development in the Kare and Barents Seas in the Arctic, and the Chukotka Sea in the northeast. The company plans further expansion, although Bogdanchikov said it already controls more than 30% of the vast Sakhalin resources and 50% of current oil production
