Georgia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs appealed to the Council of Europe
Georgia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs appealed to the Council of Europe yesterday to recall Plamen Nikolov, special envoy of Walter Schwimmer, Council of Europe Secretary General. As the host country sees it, the envoy was misinforming Mr. Schwimmer about the latest developments in Adzharia. Mr. Nikolov will stay in office till an official order reaches him from Strasbourg to leave the country, the Council of Europe information center for Georgia said to Novosti/Georgia news agency. The CE Tbilisi office makes it a point to withstand from commenting Georgian authorities' decision to launch the envoy's expulsion procedure. The functionaries will keep silent before an official response comes from the Council top.
