Several agreements on cooperation and memorandums have been signed after talks on Wednesday between visiting Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov and Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg. An agreement on cooperation between the two countries’ justice ministries were signed in the presence of the prime ministers by the Russian and Norwegian justice ministers, Yuri Chaika and Knut Storberget. Russia’s Deputy Transport Minister Alexander Misharin and Norwegian Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs Helga Pedersen inked a memorandum on mutual understanding between their departments. The memorandum is aimed at increasing the safety of navigation on sea routes of the Norwegian and Barents seas. The sides also signed a memorandum on mutual understanding between the foreign ministries of the two countries in cooperation in the training of managers for the Russian economy. The memorandum was signed by Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov and Norway’s State Secretary Kjetil Skogrand.
