The gold and foreign currency reserves held by Russia's Central Bank totaled $204.4 billion on Friday March 24, up $300 million from the previous week, the CBR said Thursday. On March 1, the reserves totaled $195.9 billion, up 3.97% month-on-month, and 7.5% from the beginning of the year. Since January 1 2006, the CBR has calculated its gold reserves based on the market rate. The bank had previously used a fixed price of $300 per troy ounce. The current international gold price is $575 per troy ounce.
