Russian researcher Andrei Zamyatnin who had been detained in Sweden on February 15 on suspicion of espionage has been released from custody. The prosecutor has stopped the investigation for lack of corpus delicti. Zamyatnin is currently staying at the Russian Embassy in Stockholm. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has expressed satisfaction with his release. The Russian citizen worked as a guest specialist, being engaged in virology studies, in Uppsala Agriculture University in the Institute of Plant Biology and Forest Genetics. Andrei Zamyatnin was detained in Uppsala on February 15 after the Swedish National Security Service had for several months kept watch on him.
