The Moscow city court dismissed on Wednesday an appeal by lawyers of deputy executive officer of YUKOS-Moscow Alexei Kuritsyn, sentenced to 14 years in prison for money laundering. The sentence stays in place. Meanwhile, it reduced the term of the sentence for three accused on the case. Dmitry Schlensky is to stay in prison for five years instead of 11. The term in prison for Nikolai Yumin and Sergei Baldykov was reduced from six years to four. On December 1, 2005, Moscow’s Lefortovo court sentenced Alexei Kuritsyn to 14 years in maximum security prison. According to the investigation, he and the senior president of YUKOS-Moscow Mikhail Trushin, who is on the wanted list, were laundering money through charity funds from January 2004 to July 2004. A total of 342 million roubles were legalized during that period.
