Federal prosecutors in Siberia will investigate the murder of a state official responsible for federal property sales
Federal prosecutors in Siberia will investigate the murder of a state official responsible for federal property sales, a spokesperson for the local prosecutor's office said Thursday. Sergei Korolko, a former head of the Federal Property Management Agency's department for sales of arrested and confiscated property, was attacked Tuesday night on the stairwell of his apartment building in Novosibirsk. He died in a hospital from multiple stab wounds and a head injury. Prosecutors have launched a murder investigation, classifying it as a contract killing related to the official's former duties. A chief investigator from the Prosecutor General's office will lead a special investigation team working on the case, the source said.
