Dmitry Medvedev urged business people to actively cooperate with the authorities in improving the quality and availability of education
Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev urged business people to actively cooperate with the authorities in improving the quality and availability of education, which is "a priority task of the state." "It will ensure the country’s competitiveness in the 21st century," Medvedev said at a meeting with entrepreneurs on Friday. The state is boosting the funding of education; more than 25 billion roubles have been allocated for the priority national project in education this year. The first deputy premier lauded the business people who actively implement their own education programs, by setting up education centers and sponsoring schools. Medvedev urged the participants in the meeting to "strengthen cooperation between business and authorities in implementing all the four national projects, including in the sphere of education. "The approaches of the state and business to problems of education have become considerably closer recently." For example, both the government and business people believe that "the education system should guarantee a high level of labor potential. "It's only by pooling our efforts that results can be achieved," the first deputy prime minister emphasized.
