Three people died in a fire in a 16-storey apartment building in the city of Khimki just outside Moscow early on Friday, sources from the information department of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations told Tass. The fire has been put out, but firefighting brigades keep working at the site. The fire broke out at about 4 am, Moscow time and quickly spread between the 11th and the 15th floor. Three victims of the fire died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
