Thirty-one people were hurt in a major earthquake on Kamchatka, a source at the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry press service told Itar-Tass. “Seven of them were hospitalized,” he said. The quake affected the villages of Tilichki and Korf wih the total population of 3,500. An Il-76 of the ministry is readying for a flight to Kamchatka from the Ramenskoye airfield in the Moscow region. The plane will deliver diesel power plants, warm clothing and tents, the source said. A ministerial task force led by Col. Gen. Gennady Korotkin is also going to Kamchatka.
