Lufthansa German Airlines has launched a project to organize air-taxi service between Russia and Europe
Lufthansa German Airlines has launched a project to organize air-taxi service between Russia and Europe, the company's CIS director said Friday. Wolfgang Schmidt said Germany's flagship carrier would provide point-to-point air-taxi flights between Russia and western Europe for passengers who want to avoid the inconvenience of crowded major airports. Travelers who need rapid connection to long-haul flights may also find the service helpful. He did not reveal the price of hiring personal aircraft, saying only that it would depend, among other factors, on the distance and the size of the plane. Lufthansa now operates air taxi services with Cessna Citation Excel and Bravo jets, seating seven to 10 passengers, but it may soon begin to employ 15-seaters as well, Schmidt said.
