The Russian Finance Ministry has allocated one hundred million roubles to the Koryak Autonomous Area
The Russian Finance Ministry has allocated one hundred million roubles to the Koryak Autonomous Area in the form of an interest-free credit for liquidation the consequences of the April 21 earthquake, the Ministry’s Press Service reports. Itar-Tass has learned that fifty million roubles were already allocated on April 28 to cope with the urgent rescue jobs, to arrange and upkeep temporary housing facilities and canteens for the evacuated residents of the Koryak Autonomous Area. It was also decided to grant the Area an additional 50-million credit from the federal budget. At present, an agreement on this extra credit is in the making and the money may be remitted already this week. The Area got an urgent transfer of 110 million roubles on April 24. The Finance Ministry is also prepared to consider the possibility of allotting money to the Area from the Russian government’s reserve fund, given a request from the executive authorities of the Koryak Autonomous Area and the receipt of documents, explaining the amount of the wanted funds.
