The first wild fires have already destroyed 337 hectares of forests in the Kurgan region, eight nonresidential buildings and one house burnt down in Ushakovo, the Shchuchansky district. The fire is getting close to the village of Sevostyanovka in the Mishkinsky district, the grass is burning on the area of about 1.1 thousand hectares on the moorlands, the press service of the regional administration told Itar-Tass. According to the firefighters, spring grassland fires and the careless handling with fire mainly caused the forest fires. The firefighters of the Trans-Ural region are afraid of the repeated tragedy of 2004, when the fire destroyed the village Chashinskoye and killed 12 people. At present, 141 forest fires were registered in the Kurgan region. Rescuers formed four operational groups that go to districts, each group controls six districts. The firefighters have flied over the Trans-Ural region on Thursday to spot the fires.
