The Malaysian candidates to fly to the International Space Station have arrived in Moscow. According to of the Roskosmos Manned Flights Department Alexei Krasnov, Roskosmos experts will try to accelerate as much as they can the signing of an agreement with Rosoboronexport on the flight of a Malaysian astronaut to the International Space Station. The candidates include three men, professing Islam, and one woman – a non-Moslem. In case the first Malaysian cosmonaut will be a Moslem, he will have to cope with more problems than the other members of the international crew. It was noted during the international meeting of Islamic theologians that the Moslem countries should guarantee the observance of their religious rites and norms on the orbit.
