Mikhail Fradkov has dismissed two deputy chiefs of the federal customs service
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov has dismissed two deputy chiefs of the federal customs service, Leonid Lozbenko and Yuri Azarov. The Russian government’s press-service has said both officials were relieved of their duties of their own accord. Earlier, Fradkov appointed Andrei Belyaninov as the new chief of the Federal Customs Service. Belyaninov’s predecessor, Alexander Zherikhov, was moved to a different position. Russian President Vladimir Putin had signed a special decree to make the Federal Customs Service subordinate to the Cabinet and prime minister. Before, the service was answerable to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
