A criminal case has been opened on the wounding of policemen in a special operation in Dagestan. The case has been instituted on Criminal Code articles “encroachment of the life of a worker of a law and order authority” and “illegal turnover of arms and ammunition,” the press service of the Dagestani Interior Ministry’s press service told. On Sunday, three police officers who were on assignment from the Vladimir region got gunshot wounds in an operation to block and destroy gunmen who stayed in a private house resisting arrest by fire. The three officers were airlifted to a hospital of Khankala, a main base of federal forces in Chechnya. According to preliminary information, Bulat Abdulayev, who was going with the nickname Bulik, and another member of a militant group, Askhab Budayev, were killed in the operation. The regional Interior Ministry’s press service said that Abdulayev was involved in several terrorist crimes, including attacks on police officers. Criminologists and investigators began work early on Monday in the rubble left of the two story private house where the militants stayed. The house burned down almost completely during the storming of it.
