First Vice-premier Dmitry Medvedev has met Novosibirsk regional governor Viktor Tolokonsky on Tuesday
First Vice-premier Dmitry Medvedev has met Novosibirsk regional governor Viktor Tolokonsky on Tuesday to discuss the progress of the implementation of a program of gas supply to Russian regions in 2005- 2007. At present, the level of gas supply in the Novosibirsk region is less than two percent, Medvedev noted. " I am confident that ensuring large-scale gas supply to such regions should give a powerful impetus to the development of their economies," Medvedev stressed. The public relations department of the Gazprom Company told Tass that on May 22 Gazprom Board Chairman Alexei Miller and Novosibirsk regional Governor Viktor Tolokonsky endorsed a schedule of synchronization of the construction of gas supply facilities in the Novosibirsk region. In 2006, Gazprom is planning to build 14 local gas pipelines in the Novosibirsk region. In 2006 - 2007 the regional administration is planning to allocate around 750 million roubles to meet gas consumers' needs. In 2005, Gazprom supplied more than 1. 3 billion cubic meters of gas to consumers of the Novosibirsk region.
