Twenty-five tonnes of oil have leaked as a result of a rupture in the oil pipeline in the Orenburg region, the information department of the Emergencies Ministry told. The incident occurred near Sovetskoye on the 91st kilometer southwest of Buzuluk. “The pipe ruptured over an illegal cut-in on the 24th kilometer of the oil pipeline Gashino-Rostoshi owned by Orenburgneftegaz. “The emergency area was immediately fenced off, but about 25 tonnes of oil leaked on the ground, and the contamination area made 1,200 square meters,” the infroamtion department said. However, “there is no threat of oil products getting in rivers and water bodies, as the nearest of them is located eight kilometers from the incident site.” The oil products are being picked up and taken away.
