Mikhail Gorbachev and Alexander Lebedev have acquired 49 percent of shares in the Novaya Gazeta newspaper
Former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev and State Duma deputy Alexander Lebedev have acquired 49 percent of shares in the Novaya Gazeta newspaper. Gorbachev told a briefing on Wednesday at the 59th World Newspaper Congress and the 13th International Editors Forum in Moscow, “The newspaper has grown out of its youth period. Our purpose is a big format: three times at first and then every day.” Gorbachev assured the journalists that neither he nor his partner is seeking to “ruin the newspaper.” He said they would seek to make “the newspaper convincing.”
