The reason for a low competitiveness of Russian goods on the world market is the absence of state support for Russian exports
The reason for a low competitiveness of Russian goods on the world market is the absence of state support for Russian exports, First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev said at the International Economic Forum here on Tuesday. “Our goods are often beaten in a tough competition on the world market not so much because of their low quality or high prices, but because of the absence of an effective system of state support,” he said. Explaining the idea, Medvedev said he had in mind the need for guarantees of the crediting of export deliveries, as well as organising mechanisms. Medvedev spoke in favour of “predictability of demand for energy carriers” on the world market though the signing of long-term contracts. “The leading oil producers and consumers now hold dialogues within the framework of their ‘club organisations’. The situation could be changed with the help of a dialogue of all the parties concerned on equal terms,” he said.
