President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Kazakhstan
President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Kazakhstan from Shanghai where he took part in the SCO summit and held several bilateral meetings. While in Kazakhstan Putin will take part in a conference on interaction and measures of confidence in Asia (SVMDA) scheduled for June 17. The program of Putin's visit includes several bilateral meetings, said presidential aide Sergei Prikhodko. Putin will meet Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to discuss bilateral and international problems, Prikhodko said. In the SMVDA framework the Russian president will hold bilateral meetings with President of Azerbaijan Ilkham Aliyev, Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Acting Prime Minister of Thailand Thaksin Shinawatra and other participants in the forum. On Sunday, Putin, Nazarbayev will visit Baikonur cosmodrome to watch first Kazakh satellite KazSat going into space at 04.44 a.m.local time. The satellite will be used as a base for creating the Kazakh space telecommunications and broadcasting systems, Prikhodko said.
