An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale has been registered in the Koryak autonomous district in the Kamchatka peninsula, a source at the Kamchatka subsidiary of the geophysical service of the Russian Academy of Sciences told Itar-Tass. No casualties or destruction have been reported, the local branch of the Russian Emergencies Ministry says. The underground tremor occurred early on Wednesday morning (06:21) local time. The earthquake’s epicentre was located at a depth of five kilometres underground approximately in the same place that was hit by a powerful earthquake, which totally disrupted all life-support systems and seriously damaged buildings in the villages of Korf, Khailino and Tilichki in the autonomous district’s Olyutorsky district.
