Unknown militants, who abducted four Russian diplomats in Baghdad, have issued a threat of killing them
Unknown militants belonging to the Qaida al-Jihad in Iraq grouping, who abducted four Russian diplomats in Baghdad, have issued a threat of killing them after expiry of an ultimatum to the Russian government Wednesday night. Information on Qaida al-Jihad’s plans as regards the diplomats appeared on a website run by Islamic fundamentalists. Earlier reports in the Internet said responsibility for adbucting the diplomats had been claimed by another grouping of militants calling itself the Council of Mojaheds of the Shura. There is no reliable data, however, on whether or not the two groupings are linked to each other.
