Two gunmen were detained in Chechnya, Itar-Tass learnt at the press centre of the Regional Operational Headquarters on Friday. According to the headquarters, one of them, 33-year-old resident of the village of Kinkhi of the Sharoisky region, was engaged in collecting for a gang leader information on dislocation and movements of federal forces. Besides, he purchased arms and foodstuffs for the gang led by certain Dadayev. During the first interrogation, the gunman disclosed the whereabouts of a cache with several AK-47 submachine-guns. While conducting the operation “Zaslon,” a 37-year-old participant in illegal armed groups was detained in Grozny. In November 2001, he and his gang staged an act of terrorism in the village of Kirov. They exploded an “Ural” car with federal servicemen. According to the press centre, criminal proceedings are to be instituted against the detainees. Their possible involvement in other grave crimes is being checked up. A lot of grenade launchers and submachine-guns were discovered in a cache prepared by gunmen in the outskirts of the villages of Kurdyukonskaya and Karagalinskaya in the Shelkovskoi region. According to the available information, the cache belonged to the gang led Alakhazurov who was destroyed in a special operation in 2005.
