Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev has declared at a Criminal Investigations Center of the Novgorod regional Interior Department that false alcohol kills 42,000 people in Russia on average every year. "False alcohol consumption causes lethal cases and leads to blindness and ontological diseases," Nurgaliyev said. At present, everyone is aware about Georgian and Moldovan wines part of which proved false beverages sold on the territory of the Russian Federation, Nurgaliev said. Four out of ten bottles brought from Georgia proved false, and seven out of ten bottles of Moldovan wines showed the same result, Nurgaliyev said. "The level of alcohol poisoning in Russia has reached the scale of a national tragedy. Today, we should do everything possible so as to bar these products from sale on the Russian territory," the Interior minister stressed.
