The Russian Council of Muftis condemns the execution of Russian diplomats in Iraq
The Russian Council of Muftis condemns the execution of Russian diplomats in Iraq and believes that "blame for the death of our people is also on the USA," Council chairman Ravil Gainutdin said in a statement. "This villainy has neither religious nor human justification. Russia did not wage war in Iraq, it did not participate in combat, its diplomats have immunity, protected both by the existing international treaties and the norms and traditions of Islam as envoys of the country who have come to help the Iraqi people," the statement said. Ravil Gainutdin emphasized that there was a Muslim among the diplomat, which proves that the masterminds of the crime had never pursued religious objectives. Gainutdin reminded that the U.S. government had promised the world community to assume all the responsibility for what would be happening in Iraq after the deposition of the existing regime. Ravil Gainutdin called upon all Muslims to consolidate in the face of threat of the spreading of terrorism under Islamic symbols, as well as all people of good will to condemn the murderers. He also expressed his condolences to the relatives of the victims.
