The first Russian business conference in Georgia will be a major contribution to promoting bilateral cooperation
The first Russian business conference in Georgia will be a major contribution to promoting bilateral cooperation, Alexander Yakovenko, the official spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said at a press conference in Moscow. "We welcome the holding of this conference and believe that it will make a contribution to further developing agreements reached during Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili's visit to Moscow and his meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin," Mr. Yakovenko said. "We believe that the conference will be instrumental in establishing mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation between our countries," he stressed. Mr. Yakovenko recalled that during his recent visit to Moscow Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania stressed the importance of attracting Russian businesses and entrepreneurs to Georgia for the socio-economic development of the country. The first Russian business conference in Georgia will be held on May 28-29 in Tbilisi. German Gref, the economic development and trade minister, will lead the Russian delegation. This is the third large-scale meeting of Russian and Georgian businessmen in Georgia over the last 13 years. The last forum was held in Tbilisi in October 2003.
