The work "on clearing up the circumstances of the abduction of the Russian diplomats and their fate continues"
The work "on clearing up the circumstances of the abduction of the Russian diplomats and their fate continues," Russian Ambassador to Iraq Vladimir Chamov told. "The Russian diplomatic mission in the Iraqi capital receives a wealth of letters, numerous E-mail messages and telephone calls from all political forces of Iraq and ordinary citizens, that express absolute aversion to terrorists' actions, solidarity with the Russian people and the readiness to maintain traditionally friendly relations with Russia," Chamov said. "The Embassy is taking measures to strengthen security and continues to function even under current military conditions," he underlined. The diplomat specially noted that "the diplomatic mission closely watches the Russian press." "We are indignant over a number of publications which are a sort of speculations on a theme that is very painful for the whole Russian people, in which this tragedy is misinterpreted without any grounds," the envoy said.
