On Thursday the State Assembly of Bashkiria has asked Mikhail Fradkov to increase financing for the Bashkir nuclear power project
When over, it will improve federal energy supply and help meet the goal, set by the federal president, of doubling the domestic GDP in ten years, the Bashkir parliament notes in the address. The Bashkir parliament has expressed concern over progress of work on the nuclear power project. Since its start in 1979, it has put to use 726.6 million roubles (in the 1991 prices), of which 190.6 million has gone to build the attendant city Agidel. The rate of building work is not enough for the lack of financing, Bashkir parliamentarians say. Investments should be increased to do designing work. Thus, at the 802.56 million roubles (1 dollar now approximately equals 29 roubles) needed for work under the feasibility study, less than 50 million roubles of financing is arriving annually.
