Moscow region’s drug police have seized about 19 kilograms of heroin from participants in a Tajik criminal group
Moscow region’s drug police have seized about 19 kilograms of heroin from participants in a Tajik criminal group, the press service of the regional department of the Federal Service for Controlling Drugs Circulation reported on Friday. Several days ago, drug police of the Klin district intercepted a batch of heroin, which participants in the group were transporting from the North-Western Federal District to the Moscow region, they specified. Twenty packs with purified heroin weighing about 19 kilograms were found behind a door panel and in the rearguard of one of the vehicles, the sources said. Three Tajik nationals carrying drugs tried to escape in the forest. “Two of them were detained at the site, and the third one was seized in the Solnechnogorsk district of the Moscow region several hours later,” they added. According to investigators, the detained men were from a criminal group making part of a major Tajik criminal community. One year ago, drug police seized about 160 kilograms of heroin intended for that community, and drug couriers were arrested then. After that, the group re-orientated its activity and started purchasing small drug batches. Police check information on supplies of heroin to the Moscow region.
