Final preparations are underway on Red Square in Moscow for this evening's charitable concert by the world's leading baritone, Dimitry Khvorostovsky. 16 meter stage has already been erected next to the Vasilii Blazhenni cathedral, as well as seating for 7,000 people. This will be Khvorostovsky's first performance in an outdoor venue. The first half of the program will feature arias from classical Russian operas and romances, while the second half will be dedicated to songs from the war years. Accompanying Khvorostovsky will be the State Academic Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Konstantin Orbelian. The concert will be broadcast live on the Russia television station, and will be seen in 37 countries.
