The director of the Shchelkovsky marketplace was injured as a result of the blast of his car of foreign make in the Moscow region, a source in the Moscow regional main police department told Itar-Tass. The blast went off at about 10.00 Moscow time on Wednesday on Shchelkovskoye Highway not far from the turn to Medvezhyi Ozera. “Two gangsters riding on motorbikes threw a bag on the roof of the car, after that the blast went off,” the source emphasized. However, the driver and the passenger managed to jump out of the car that saved them from death. “The businessman got a slight knee injury and refused from hospitalization. His driver was not injured,” the source pointed out. According to the preliminary information, an explosive device was inside the bag, its explosive yield is being established, but, according to specialists, it was at least 300 grams of TNT. Several versions are under consideration. “It is not ruled out that the blast was a warning, and no one attempted on the life of the businessman in earnest,” the source pointed out. An investigating team consisting of policemen and workers of the prosecutor’s office is working at the incident site.
