The Izhevsk Mechanical Factory will deliver 30,000 hunting rifles to the US market over the next year
The first delivery of guns to the American gun manufacturer Remington Arms Company took place last week. The agreement on deliveries of Izhevsk rifles to America was concluded May 21 during a meeting between the president of Udmitriya, Alexander Volkov, representatives of the US firm and the Izhevsk mechanical factory. The deliveries will be carried out in the context of the joint project Spartan. The Remington Arms Company has already begun advertising the Spartan brand on the American gun market. Six types of Spartan rifles, specially prepared at the Izhevsk factory, were presented at the largest international gun show in the US, Shot Show. In 2005, the volume of rifles delivered from Izhevsk to the US is expected to grow dramatically. According to Volkov, 'the main task of the republic's gun makers is to uphold the high quality and reliability of Izhevsk guns."
