The Russian Air Force will receive 58 super modern Su-34 planes until 2015
The Russian Air Force will receive 58 super modern Su-34 planes until 2015, Russian Vice-Premier and Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov said on Friday. The handing over of the modernised strategic bomber Tu-160 and the first latest front-line bomber Su-34 to the Air Force is an important and indicative event for the Armed Forces and the country's defence capability, the minister noted. The vice-premier said he paid much attention to aircraft building, since it is high technologies, employment of workers and Russia's ability to compete. “We must not just keep our positions not to lose them, but must run ahead of the competitors,” Ivanov stressed. The aircraft building financing must be increased, but it must be used for concrete purposes and oriented at concrete time, as it was with the Su-34, he noted.
