The US’ satellite Genesis-1 launched on the Russian ballistic missile RS-20 is successfully operating in orbit
The US’ satellite Genesis-1 launched on the Russian ballistic missile RS-20 is successfully operating in orbit. The rocket blasted off from the Yasny cosmodrome of the Russian Strategic Troops in the Orenburg region on Wednesday. The director general of the International Space Company (ISC), Vladimir Andreyev, told ITAR-TASS on Thursday that “Genesis has been found in orbit, it has deployed; signals have been received and the craft has begun functioning”. The “launched spacecraft is a fragment of a future space hotel,” Andreyev said. The ISC pursues a Dnepr programme using decommissioned heavy ballistic missiles RS-20V for delivering payloads into orbit.
