Rosgidromet has issued a storm warning for the country's European regions
Russia's Federal Service for Meteorology (Rosgidromet) has issued a storm warning for the country's European regions, Rosgidromet's deputy director Natalya Yershova told Itar-Tass. The warning is effective July 19 and July 20 for the southern part of the Central Federal District and the greater part of the Volga and Southern Federal Districts. July 20 and July 21, it will be effective for most of the territories of the Urals Federal District. "The areas in question will have showers that will be very heavy in some places, with thunderstorms, hail, and gales of winds of up to 22 to 27 meters per second," Yershova said, adding that local tornados are not ruled out. The weather will deteriorate as a southern cyclone has reached the European part of Russia. "We issued the warning in the light of activation of atmospheric processes and the rapid approach of atmospheric fronts," Yershova said.
