Two planes of RME have brought more than 200 Russians and citizens of CIS countries from Lebanon
Two planes of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (RME) have brought more than 200 Russians and citizens of CIS countries from Lebanon. An official in the RME aviation service has told Itar-Tass that an Il-62 passenger plane and an Il-76 transportation one have airlifted 216 evacuees from Syria, with 123 of them being children. They have been evacuated from the southern areas of Lebanon. The RME official specified that the arrivals include 147 citizens of Russia while the rest are nationals from CIS countries. According to preliminary data, the planes of the RME and other Russian air companies have evacuated a total of more than 1,900 people -- with almost 650 of them being children -- from Palestine and Lebanon since the moment of the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East. The RME leadership has stated, for its part, that the evacuation of citizens of Russia and CIS countries from Lebanon will be continued as long as necessary.
