One was killed and nine people injured in a serious traffic accident on a federal highway M-52 in the Altai region on Friday. The accident occurred in the same place near a road turn to the settlement of Pleshkovo, where former Altai regional governor Mikhail Yevdokimov was killed in August, 2005. The accident was a result of a collision of two VAZ cars. Deputy head doctor of the Barnaul Ambulance Service Alexei Nesterov said that there were ten casualties, including one lethal case. Nine survivors were brought to the Central District Hospital in the Zonaljny district. The victims were examined and underwent surgery. Two children injured in the accident are in condition of medium seriousness, said senior hospital official Svetlana Izboldina.
