President Vladimir Putin has congratulated servicemen and veterans of Airborne troops upon Airborne Troops Day celebrated on Wednesday, the Kremlin press service said. "The history of airborne troops has many examples of heroism, valor and strength. Servicemen in blue helmets fulfill the most difficult and dangerous tasks, demonstrating combat skills and good training. Today, Airborne troops successfully resolve the most important tasks of safeguarding Russia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity. Undergoing military service in airborne troops means being to a real school that teaches courage, patriotism and civil responsibility. The present generation of the paratroopers faithfully observes the laws of paratrooper brotherhood and glorious traditions of their predecessors. "I thank you for the service and wish health and well- being to you and your families," the Russian president said in a message of greetings to airborne troops.
