Police have seized a large batch of drugs hidden among fruits and vegetables in a central Siberian region
Police have seized a large batch of drugs hidden among fruits and vegetables in a central Siberian region, a law-enforcer said Wednesday. Police seized 2.5 kg (6 lbs) of heroin, the equivalent of 25,000 doses, from two traders from Tajikistan at a local marketplace in the town of Kansk in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, seven time zones east of Moscow, the spokesman said. Tajikistan borders on Afghanistan, the world's largest producer of opium, and is a major transit country for drugs through to Russia and western Europe.
