Nissan said Wednesday its sales in Russia in January-July increased 45.4% year-on-year to 36,518 vehicles
Japanese carmaker Nissan said Wednesday its sales in Russia in January-July increased 45.4% year-on-year to 36,518 vehicles. The Nissan Almera accounted for 46% of sales in the reporting period, followed by Nissan Primera (17%). Nissan also manufactures Micra, Maxima QX and Nissan Patrol GR models in Russia. In June, Nissan signed a deal to build an automotive plant near St. Petersburg, Russia's second largest city. The company said it would invest about $200 million in car making in Russia. The first cars from the new plant will roll out in October 2008 and annual output is expected to reach 50,000 cars. Nissan said it would adapt its models for Russia.
