More than seven kilograms of heroin have been seized by officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB) during a special operation conducted in the Samara Region. The drug was confiscated from two men who were suspected of being members of a drug group, Itar-Tass learnt at the press service of the regional department of the Russian Federal Security Service. According to the press service, the drug was found in the detainees’ car in federal highway M5 in the Kamyshlinsky region. The cost of the given batch of heroin in the “black” market is about 150 million roubles. As a representative of the press service said, while working on opposing deliveries of drugs to Russia from Central Asia, “the regional FSB department dealt with the so-called Leninabad criminal drug group which operated on the territory of the Samara Region. FSB officers managed to obtain information on the channel of drug deliveries from Tajikistan the Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Penza and Omsk Regions, as well as found out that Tajik citizens were the organizers of the transnational criminal drug community. Criminal proceedings were instituted over the given fact.
