Police have confiscated over eight kilogrammes of gold hidden
Police have confiscated over eight kilogrammes of gold hidden in a car that criminals attempted to send to the Ingushetia republic. The confiscated gold is worth over four million roubles. The owner, Amarkhan Aushev, a resident of the city of Yakutsk, has been detained. The press service of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) reported in a press release on Monday that Aushev was purchasing gold from unidentified persons. He bought a Toyota car in order to carry the precious metal to Ingushetia. He made a stash inside the car and put the gold there. For running the car to the republic Aushev with his accomplices hired a driver whose name was Boikov and registered the car in his name. After getting his pay Boikov left Yakutsk on February 20, 2006. The driver had no idea that gold was hidden in the car. On arrival on the same day at the Nizhny Bestyakh settlement in the Megino-Kangalassky district Boikov met his friends and they has a booze party. Having boozed away all the earned money Boikov lost registration documents for his car. Fearing that the owner could punish him Boikov decided to sell the car and flee Yakutia. Meanwhile, Amarkhan Aushev and his accomplices began a search for the driver and arrived in Nizhny Bestyakh. Fearing for his life Boikov turned to police for help. Searching the Toyota car police officers found over eight kilogrammes of gold hidden in it. Besides, during a search of Aushev’ s apartment police found another 254 grammes of gold. A criminal case has been opened. Aushev is facing a trial.
