Russian naval exercises in command skills and coordination of forces started Thursday off the Kamchatka peninsula in the Far East
Russian naval exercises in command skills and coordination of forces started Thursday off the Kamchatka peninsula in the Far East, a Russian Pacific Fleet spokesman said. "More than 20 vessels of different types are taking part in the scheduled exercise," the spokesman said. "Over a dozen aircraft from Russia's joint command in the northeast will take to the skies." According to the scenario, the war games will end with a massive strike by naval, submarine and air force units at a surface target, the spokesman said. He added that the Pacific Fleet's commander, Admiral Viktor Fyodorov, would oversee the exercise.
