Japanese carmaker Nissan is facing action from Russia's Anti-Monopoly Service
Japanese carmaker Nissan is facing action from Russia's Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS), an FAS deputy chief said Wednesday. Andrei Kashevarov said Nissan sent its official dealers letters ordering them to set fixed costs for the technical maintenance of their cars, eliminating competition is this segment of the auto services market. "We will take action against Nissan under the provisions of Article 6 [of the Fair Competition Law]," he said. He also said the move taken by Nissan harmed auto insurers. "All additional technical maintenance costs will be passed on to insurers," he said. "Insurance companies will then start raising auto liability insurance tariffs."
