New metro station open in Moscow on Wednesday ahead of the City Day
A new metro (underground railway) station, the Mezhdunarodnaya (international), opens here on Wednesday ahead of the City Day. The station is located on the territory of the building Moscow-City business center. An official in the underground railway administration has told Itar-Tass, "This will be already a 172nd station and the second one on a new metro line that originates at Kiyevskaya (Kievan) station. In future, we intend to extend the line to Polezhayevskaya, Dynamo, and Savyolovo stations." A large passenger transportation terminal is to emerge at the new metro station to receive express trains from the airports and buses. "This transportation hub is to be brought into being within two years," the railway official specified. In commemoration of the event, all those who wish it will be able to buy tickets with a representation of the Mezhdunarodnaya metro station.
