Two antitank mines found in a school in south Russia were visual aids for basic military training classes
Two antitank mines found in a school in south Russia were visual aids for basic military training classes, local police said Thursday. Special services said earlier they and police found the two mines when they were investigating reports of an ammunition cache at the school in the east of Daghestan, on the Caspian Sea. The Russian academic year starts Friday, and security services have been on high alert to prevent a repetition of the 2004 Beslan school massacre. Special services said the mines were hidden in a janitor's room on the second floor, and weighed one kilo.
