Special attention will be given to problems of crises situations in Africa, and prospects of ensuring sustainable development of the region,” it was noted. During the stay in the Nigerian capital Lavrov will hold a meeting at the office of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to discuss prospects for cooperation with that regional organization. “These contacts are to promote the development of cooperation between Russia and Nigeria that is one of Russia’s main partners in the African continent,” the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.
