Policeman was killed and about ten local residents were injured in Ingushetia on Wednesday
A policeman was killed and about ten local residents were injured when a road police station was shelled in Russia’s southern republic of Ingushetia on Wednesday, sources from local law enforcement agencies told Itar-Tass. “The incident happened at about 10 am, Moscow time, near the administrative border between Ingushetia and Chechnya,” they said. “According to early reports, three unidentified people arriving from Chechnya rudely refused to produce documents and opened fire at policemen,” they added. “One of them was killed in a return fire,” the sources said. About one hour later, unidentified gunmen shelled a road police post from a GAZ-2130 car from the side of the Chechen administrative border. There were local residents apart from policemen at the station at that moment. “As a result, a policeman was killed and about ten people were wounded and hospitalized,” law enforcement sources said. One of the gunmen was wounded in a return fire. An investigation brigade is working at the site.
